RALEIGH, N.C. — The Senate chairs of the Joint Legislative Transportation Oversight Committee — Sens. Michael Lazzara (R-Onslow), Vickie Sawyer (R-Iredell) and Tom McInnis (R-Moore) — released a joint statement following the conclusion of Thursday’s meeting concerning the N.C. Division of Motor Vehicles:
“We hear from North Carolinians all over the state who have concerns about how the DMV operates. Today’s meeting was a fact-finding mission to better understand those experiences and ensure the DMV is serving the people of North Carolina to the best of its ability. Day in and day out the dedicated DMV employees do everything they can to serve their communities, and it is imperative that agency leadership does the same. This hearing made it clear that the DMV leadership is not acting in the best interest of the people of North Carolina, and we look forward to continuing our efforts to improve DMV services.”
